About

TM Chiropractic was founded by Christina McIlduff, a chiropractor with a unique background in movement, performance, and biomechanics. Before retraining as a chiropractor, Christina built a successful career as an aerialist and aerial coach, giving her an in-depth, practical understanding of how the body moves, adapts, and performs under physical demand.

This experience shaped a strong interest in sport, injury prevention, and functional movement, and continues to influence her clinical approach today. While studying chiropractic, Christina was awarded the prestigious FICS (International Federation of Sports Chiropractic) Student Scholarship, recognising her commitment to excellence and evidence-based sports care.

At TM Chiropractic, treatment is personalised, evidence-based, and collaborative. Christina works closely with each patient as part of a team, ensuring they understand their condition, their treatment options, and how to actively support their recovery. Care often includes hands-on treatment alongside tailored exercise and movement advice, designed to restore confidence, improve performance, and support long-term health.

TM Chiropractic welcomes people from all backgrounds, from athletes and performers to those simply wanting to move and feel better in everyday life.

  • Chiropractic care works by restoring optimal movement and function to the spine and joints, allowing the body to perform at its best. When joints become restricted or are not moving properly, it can lead to pain, stiffness, muscle tension, and reduced overall function.

Through specific, hands-on techniques such as spinal adjustments and joint mobilisation, chiropractic treatment helps to improve mobility, reduce irritation, and relieve pressure within the musculoskeletal system. This often leads to reduced pain and improved movement.

Chiropractic care also supports healthy nervous system function. Because the spine protects the nervous system, improving spinal movement can help optimise communication between the brain and body, supporting overall function, coordination, and wellbeing.

  • Chiropractic care can be a valuable part of your training and recovery plan, especially when your goals involve improving movement, reducing pain, staying injury-free, and performing consistently at your best. Rather than being a magic bullet that directly boosts performance statistics on its own, it supports the body in a way that often helps athletes train and compete more effectively.

Studies do suggest improvements in range of motion, joint function and neuromuscular coordination, which are all factors that contribute to better athletic performance in real-world settings.

In practice, many athletes from weekend warriors to professionals, report that chiropractic helps them stay pain-free, move better, train more consistently, and recover faster, all of which contribute to achieving sporting goals over time.

  • Yes, there are many different chiropractic techniques, and styles can vary between practitioners depending on their training, clinical experience, and areas of interest.

Some chiropractors use more traditional manual adjustments that involve a quick, specific movement to a joint. Others may use gentler approaches, low-force techniques, instrument-assisted methods, or mobilisation-based care. No single technique is “best”, the most important factor is choosing the right approach for the individual patient, their condition, and their comfort level.

At TM Chiropractic, treatment is tailored to you. Alongside chiropractic adjustments, we also incorporate supportive therapies such as soft tissue work (including massage therapy) and personalised rehabilitation exercises. These help improve strength, stability, and movement patterns to support longer-term results and reduce the likelihood of recurrence.

If you ever have preferences or concerns about certain techniques, we’re always happy to discuss and adapt your care accordingly.
