Approach to care…

Initial Consultation

£65

Your initial consultation will last approximately 60 minutes. Prior to your appointment, you will be asked to complete a new patient intake form. This allows for a comprehensive review of your medical history, current health status, and any factors relevant to your care.

During the consultation, a detailed history will be taken to explore your presenting complaint, including the onset, nature, and progression of symptoms, as well as any associated concerns or functional limitations. We will also discuss your health goals and expectations for treatment.

A thorough physical examination will then be conducted. This may include orthopaedic, neurological, and functional assessments, as clinically indicated, to establish an accurate diagnosis and identify contributing factors.

Following the assessment, the findings will be explained clearly and in detail. A personalised management plan will be outlined, including recommended treatment options, expected outcomes, and anticipated timeframes. You will have the opportunity to ask questions and provide informed consent before any treatment is initiated.

Where clinically appropriate, and with your agreement, initial treatment may be provided during this appointment.

My aim is to work collaboratively with you, respecting your preferences, values, and decisions at all times.

Standard Appointment

£45

A standard chiropractic treatment at TM Chiropractic lasts around 20–30 minutes and is tailored to your individual needs and goals. Following your initial consultation, I will create a personalised care plan designed to help you achieve your goals as effectively and efficiently as possible.

Each session begins with a brief check-in to review your progress and any changes in symptoms or movement. Treatment may include hands-on techniques such as joint mobilisation or manipulation, alongside soft tissue work where appropriate. I also provide tailored exercise and movement advice to support your recovery, improve function, and build confidence between appointments.

My approach is always collaborative, ensuring you feel informed, comfortable, and fully supported throughout your treatment journey.

  • Chiropractic care is a healthcare approach focused on the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of musculoskeletal conditions, particularly those affecting the spine, joints, and nervous system.

It is based on the understanding that the spine plays a vital role in protecting the nervous system, which controls and coordinates every function in the body. When joints in the spine or elsewhere are not moving properly, this can affect nervous system communication and overall function.

Chiropractors use hands-on techniques, including spinal adjustments and joint mobilisation, to improve movement, reduce pain, and support healthy nervous system function. Care may also include soft tissue work, rehabilitation exercises, and personalised lifestyle advice.

Chiropractic treatment is commonly sought for back pain, neck pain, headaches, and joint problems, and can also help improve posture, mobility, and overall wellbeing.

  • For your initial consultation, please wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely. I kindly ask that you do not wear jeans.

For women, a sports bra and shorts are ideal. For men, shorts are recommended. If you are experiencing an issue in a specific area (for example, the knee or shoulder), please wear clothing that allows easy access to that area.

If you are comfortable, I may ask you to remove your top during the assessment. This helps me to observe spinal alignment and identify any muscle imbalances. However, if you would prefer not to do so, that is completely fine.

Unless otherwise specified, this dress code is not required for every appointment.

  • Chiropractic treatment is generally not painful. Most people find adjustments comfortable and often feel relief or improved movement afterward.

You may feel gentle pressure or a quick movement during an adjustment, and sometimes hear a small “popping” sound, this is completely normal. Some patients experience mild soreness after their first session, similar to post-exercise soreness, which usually settles within 24–48 hours.

Your treatment is always tailored to you, and techniques can be adjusted to ensure you feel comfortable throughout your care.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • This depends entirely on your individual situation and what you’d like to achieve. I’ll make a recommendation based on my findings, but we’ll always decide on a plan together, at a pace that feels right for you.

At each appointment, I reassess how you’re responding to care. If you reach your goals sooner than expected, there’s no obligation to continue treatment. Once things have settled, we can talk about preventative care if that’s something you’re interested in, and what that might look like for you.
